Seamless Cavity Sealing & Active Moisture Balancing
Cellulose insulation is a high-density, eco-friendly blow-in insulation manufactured from recycled newsprint treated with natural mineral borates. Instead of installing pre-cut batts that leave air gaps, cellulose is injected under high pneumatic pressure directly into framed wall cavities, floor joists, and sloped roof structures.
In-Depth Technical Advantages
Gap-Free 360° Seamless Blanket:
Conventional roll insulation must be cut by hand to fit around electrical boxes, wiring, plumbing pipes, and diagonal structural bracing. This inevitably creates small gaps that lead to drafty thermal leaks and condensation points. Pneumatically blown cellulose flows like a liquid before compacting into a dense, continuous blanket that completely encapsulates every irregular crevice and void, achieving an airtight fit.
High Hygroscopic Capacity (Natural Indoor Moisture Buffer):
Unlike glass wool or plastic foam, which are hydrophobic and pool water droplets on their surfaces, natural cellulose fibers are hygroscopic. They can safely absorb up to 15% of their own weight in ambient moisture without losing their thermal resistance (R-value). During humid periods, cellulose stores excess wall humidity; during dry winter periods, it gently releases it back, stabilizing your indoor relative humidity automatically.
Fire Retardancy & Biological Resistance:
To ensure maximum safety, the cellulose fibers are thoroughly impregnated with natural borate salts. When exposed to flame, the borate compound crystallizes, releasing non-toxic moisture molecules and forming a dense carbonized surface barrier that starves the fire of oxygen. Additionally, these mineral salts create an alkaline environment that naturally repels wood-boring insects, termites, rodents, and mold growth without chemical pesticides.
Drastic Heating & Cooling Energy Reductions:
By combining high density with complete cavity coverage, cellulose prevents internal convection currents within the walls. This locks conditioned air inside your living space, drastically reducing the run time of your heating and cooling equipment.
